Literature Text

I sigh aloud to catch your attention, mother
your mind set within stone around lies without water
I wont take these coke-raging screw-jobs as lightly anymore
you deny your existence to all you see through
hiding your shame in behind your thoughtless pestilence
wasting your life, bleeding your eyes
guilt wrings you out from untestified negligence
but like you always are, you cant admit, mother
as you always were, you'd rather submit to the pressure
anything to be wanted. anything to be noticed
by these faults you own and sleep with every night
that wrench and tear your guts up from the inside
for the life you lead isn't healthy
the effect the lies have on your soul are taxing
but you wont hear it through the pit of your self-medicating
and you wont touch reality for fear of pain
grudging against those that know your true name
they spoke because they care
and now, when you need help the most
they wont be there
because you had no trust in family
and now I sigh aloud, just for you to hear
because its all I can do for what you give me
without tears
I turn and walk away from a familiar stranger
Old Poem I found

My friends, my peers, please critique my work. I know that the peom may seem personal, but it wont hurt my feelings if theres something wrong with it. that being said, What do you think about the word choice? Was the begining written in a way that it keeps the reader reading? If not, how can I improve it? Thanks!

It's sad, but nicely written :)
